WHO WE ARE

Who Are We?

A place for home cooks, local artisans, growers, general "DIY-ers" to get together and exchange specialty foods/beverages, body/home products, arts/crafts. We gather monthly to exchange our homemade goodies--there is no money exchanged and the event is FREE for those who register. Yes, it's actually free.

What is a Food and Product Exchange?

As the name suggests, it’s basically a mini marketplace where food and homemade products are exchanged. We operate under the bartering system, meaning instead of buying things with money, you are trading your product for another person’s product. It's essentially like a farmer's market or art festival where everyone is a vendor, no money is exchanged, and everyone leaves with something awesome.

What Do I Bring?Anything! Here are some examples:

Food: Almond milk, Pickled vegetables, Syrups, & Sauces, Yogurts (starters included), hot sauces, ghee, fermented drinks & edibles, eggs, soups, Fresh produce

Non-Food: Herbal Salves, Shampoo & Soap bars, Face scrubs & masks, Lotions, Clothes, Plants

Crafts: Jewelry, knitted items, paintings

How I Do Trade at the Exchange? Is there a Standard Protocol on what to Bring?

There’s not really a standard etiquette, but strange enough, it always works out. People value things differently, so people might trade something bigger/more time-intensive for a smaller thing they just really want. It's pretty informal, so don't be nervous and come with an open mind!

So Do I Just Go And Trade Stuff?

Well yes! But the best part about our exchanges is the conversation and networking opportunities. People will often exchange ideas about homemade food and products, and local businesspeople/artisans will share information about best practices and growth opportunities. For us, it’s also about building community, friendship, and local business. Whether you are a stay-at-home-mom, full time business professional, gym buff, bread-maker, or college student, you will really enjoy the swap!

Wait, what? I'm still confused!

Relax! Think of our exchange as a show and tell, where you bring products you're proud of. Chances are, someone's going to want it.
